While I do realize that this site's supposedly in BETA...

It is still awful quiet here....makes one think that the movement to live launch will never happen?

???

Jim, if you're talking about this forum, you're right, it is awfully quiet. One feedback we received from the members is that they don't feel comfortable discussing most business issues in a public forum. Of course, there should be enough topics that are less sensitive, but it seems so far we've been missing the "catalyst" type of member, who gets and keeps people engaged in discussions. Could that be you? Feel free to start on any topic you like, and to invite your connections to join TeamBiz and the discussion.

On the beta question - we are working on a very exciting new version that will become publicly available this summer. In the meantime, we're focusing on growing the membership base and on organizing the first of our Networking Events in Hamilton. I hope I'll see you there on May 25.

@Alex...while I realize that many startups never get out of stealth-mode....at least this beta is launched....and what I'd hope to see is more biz traffic here via online marketing....

dunno if that will happen, but I know that without same, the phrase 'ghost-town' comes to mind....

best of luck tho....

@Jim Thanks for your encouraging words :) I can't go into the details of our marketing strategy, but the results have been above expectation, so far. We have well over 1,000 members, most of which have created directory profiles, which in turn have brought them inquiries from potential clients and partners. Of course, there have been things that didn't go as well as we hoped, but that's the whole point of this stage - to learn from our members how can we help them better. All in all, I'd say we're off to a good start, and we're working passionately on taking it to the next level. In the meantime, you are welcome to enjoy what is already in place and know that we always appreciate any and all feedback.

 Um...more than a thousand members?

I doubted that...and when I go to the members page, there's only 5 of us "showing" up, i.e. displayed...

It was not till I realized that the word "NEW" was up top that I maybe thought, oh...maybe this is date filtered....

Then I read again the listing in the right hand sidebar and clicked a link there - and yup, all the members are hidden behind their category titles....

Why that can be problematic is that it does "hide" the # of members and until one clicks, visitors don't know how many of "us" there are...

Might I suggest that you provide more feedback - i.e. perhaps a call-to-action button with this kind of lure - "Join the 1000+ members who've already registered for free by clicking here..." type of conversion tool....

That way, visitors quickly see that there ARE members....

Don't mean to preach here...just after 40+ years in marketing, it's apparent that even my own well trained eye was fooled....

Good point and suggestion. I'll make sure it gets on the to-do list.
