Pocketsmith is an on-line financial management tool for individuals and small businesses. With an unique approach, all financial items are organized as calendar events that can hold salaries, phone, rent, weekly expenses a.s.o. Then, the application takes the events and generates a 6 or 12 month cash forecast, with a daily predicted balance, based on your spendings, savings and financial decisions.
PocketSmith also lets you upload your electronic bank statements to get an easy overview of your activity and match up your transactions with your events to see if you're sticking to your budget.
Another great feature is the ability to export your data to Excel, and to your
calendar in Outlook, Google, or
iPhone.
You can check how much you have left in your budget at any time: on the web, on your iPhone or on most mobile devices with Opera Mini. Or even via Twitter, sending your budget straight to your phone via text messages (SMS).
It's a blend of pen-and-paper and envelope budgeting; you'll always know where you’re at.
PocketSmith has four separate areas – Forecast, Accounts, Compares and Goals.
- Forecast is where you set up your budget and forecast, and predict where you can be if
you stick to your budget.
- Accounts is where you add your bank accounts and actual spending, ready for analysis.
- Compares allows you to compare how you have tracked against your forecast – comparing your Forecast Events and (Event Periods) with your Transactions.
- Goals lets you plan to buy the items that you love. Whether you are saving for a new stereo, car, or house deposit; PocketSmith can predict when you can achieve your goals.
Although the application is designed mainly for individuals, it can be a great tool for small businesses playing financial scenarios and can be successfully used as a cash-flow prediction tool.
