Is there any cost to join TeamBiz?

You can join and use all TeamBiz website features for free. You even get rewarded for your contribution to our community! We only charge for advertising and for listing under multiple categories in the directory.

I am not a owner or partner in the business. Can I still join?

TeamBiz is a community of entrepreneurs - people who own or manage independent small businesses. For more information please read our TruEntrepreneur™ policy.

How would TeamBiz help my business?

Our vision is to make TeamBiz a place where entrepreneurs can foster meaningful business relationships, talk real issues and support each other to achieve their goals. Currently in beta version, our community is enriched periodically with tools and features that help you achieve your goals and us achieve our vision. So far, we implemented several great features that increase your exposure in TeamBiz and in Search Engines:

Your TeamBiz profile

A great addition to your on-line marketing arsenal, your TeamBiz profile is especially built to help you improve your position in search engine result pages. Before trusting you with their business, most clients will research on-line to learn more about you, often looking past your company's website. With your profile, you can control the way they see you, making a great first impression. The more your potential clients know about you and your business, the more comfortable they get with you, and the more likely they are to choose you as their provider.

Here are some tips on how to create a great profile.

Article publishing

At TeamBiz, you can greatly increase the exposure of articles that you publish on your company blog or website. First, as member and publisher, you get an additional star and your profile can be seen on the TeamBiz homepage more often. Once a week, we choose an article to be featured on the homepage and in our TeamBiz Loop newsletter (along with other new articles) that goes out to over 600 TeamBiz members. Your articles are optimized for search engines, so your exposure goes beyond TeamBiz community. In addition, your credits pop next to your name, are also displayed at the bottom of your articles and are linked to your member profile, to help you grow your reputation.

Event publishing

If you host seminars and workshops, then probably there are times when your seats are not quite filled. TeamBiz helps you advertise your events and increases their exposure in Search Engines so you get more attendees every time. Our goal is to provide information about events that are relevant to all our members so, we are looking, among other several things, for events for entrepreneurs that are all-inclusive (open to non-members or non-clients), and do not discriminate on any criteria such as gender, religion, race, ethnicity, nationality or sexual orientation.

Can my profile get listed under more than one category?

We allow only one free listing and up to two paid listings in additional categories. There is a $15 yearly fee for each additional category. Please contact us to get your profile under an additional category.

What if I have more than one business?

While we encourage you to market your business, our goal is to create a directory of entrepreneurs (not of businesses). If you have more than one business, decide which one you want to list and then you can mention the other businesses in your profile. Or, if you have a business partner, you can just have them join as well, and decide who represents each business! Bottom line: it's one account per member. If needed, your profile can get listed under up to two more categories (see the previous question). Please note that we will remove additional profiles.

What's with the stars under my picture?

We show everybody that you are an active and knowledgeable member that brings valuable resources to our community. Your stars are directly connected to the number of credits you earn over one year. Members with profiles keep their "Active member" status as long as they are TeamBiz members. The more stars you earn, the more status you get:

Top 5% contributor (min. 20,000 credits)

Top 10% contributor (min. 10,000 credits)

Top 20% contributor (min. 5,000 credits)

Top 50% contributor (min. 1,000 credits)

The star ranking is updated once a day.

For what do I get credits?

We want to recognize active TeamBiz members that bring valuable input to our community, and this is our way to say "Thank you!". Here is what you get credits for:

completing your member profile: 100 credits
publishing an article: 1,000 credits

Top contributors are featured in the directory and on the TeamBiz homepage.

Are there any conditions to get credits for my member profile?

We want to encourage members to know, trust and do business with each other. A good profile will enable that. So we require from you to have at least:
