This Privacy Policy applies to the services offered by TeamBiz ("us" or "we"), including TeamBiz.org and TeamBiz.ca (the “TeamBiz Website”), collectively, the “TeamBiz Services”.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, to content or information not generated by TeamBiz, or to acts of people that TeamBiz does not employ or manage.
This policy covers how TeamBiz collects, uses and shares information, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Related Data that you provide to us, and non-PII information that we collect automatically related to your use of the TeamBiz Website and Services.
The TeamBiz Services are hosted in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, you expressly agree that PII and Related Data will be transferred to the United States for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy as a result of your using the TeamBiz Services.
We are a general audience site, and do not direct any of our content specifically at children under 13 years of age. If we learn or have reason to suspect that TeamBiz Website user is under age 13, we will promptly delete any personal information in that user’s account.
TeamBiz does not specifically solicit or collect personal information about
anyone under the age of 18 nor do we knowingly provide recommendations
to such persons. If you are under 18, please do not attempt to join TeamBiz or
send any information about yourself to us, including
your name, address, telephone number, or email address.
Information Collection
When you visit TeamBiz you provide us with Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Related Data - information about you that you knowingly choose to disclose, and information that we collect automatically as you interact with the TeamBiz website.
Personally identifiable Information
TeamBiz collects your email address and first and last name, in order to register you as a Member (“Registration Data”). TeamBiz cannot register you as Member without this information. In order to create your directory profile, we collect additional personal information such as your company name or business affiliation, address, phone and fax number.
All other information you provide during the TeamBiz registration or that you
post on the TeamBiz website is voluntary.
When you use TeamBiz, you may form relationships, send messages, perform searches and queries, submit content, participate in discussions and forums, participate in contests or surveys, and send and receive information through various channels. We may collect and retain this information so that we can provide to you the TeamBiz services, products, newsletters and information you request or subscribe to.
In order to invite others to connect with you or join TeamBiz, you will enter their names and email addresses. This information will only be used by TeamBiz to send your invitation.
TeamBiz determines the purposes of collection, use and disclosure of the Registration Data you provide and, as such, is considered the data controller of this information. Because the Members, not TeamBiz, determine the purposes for which Profile Information is collected, used and disclosed, TeamBiz is not the data controller of Profile Information that Members provide on their profile.
Related Data
Our servers automatically recognize visitors’ domain names and IP addresses (the number assigned to computers on the Internet). No personal information about you is revealed in this process. Our Website may also gather anonymous “traffic data” that does not personally identify you, but that may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer.
TeamBiz also collects information about your interactions and transactions with us.
In addition, we store certain information from your browser using cookies and web log files to track site usage. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser.
This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by TeamBiz only, and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of our advertisers.
Use of Collected Information
As described above, TeamBiz collects personal information when you join us, when you create or update your personal profile, when you use our services, and when you visit pages within the TeamBiz website.
General
TeamBiz uses your information for the following general purposes:
- To process and respond to inquiries.
- For the purposes for which you provided the information.
- To improve the content and navigability of the Website.
- To alert you to new Website features, special events, products
and services, and to deliver newsletters from which you may opt out by clicking
the unsubscribe link within the email.
- To enforce the User Agreement and/or the Advertising Policy.
TeamBiz will never use your information:
- to rent or sell your Personally Identifiable Information to third parties for marketing purposes
- to share your contact information with another user without your consent, unless we are legally compelled to do so.
Any sensitive information that you provide will be secured with all industry standard protocols and technology
Personally Identifiable Information that you submit to the forums, discussions and your profile may remain online for an extended period of time, and we are not responsible for such disclosures.
You may be contacted by users and members through your directory profile using "Send a Message to a TeamBiz member" form. You will receive that message at the e-mail address you provided to us when you joined. Your e-mail address will not be revealed to the users who contact you. However, if you you choose to reply to their message using your e-mail, then your e-mail address will be exposed and your actions and consequences will not be covered by this privacy policy.
If you choose to use our services to invite a colleague or connect with another user, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your colleague's email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. TeamBiz stores this information to send this one-time invitation, only to register a friend connection if your invitation is accepted, and to track the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at office@teambiz.org to request that we remove this information from our database.
Sharing Your Information with Third Parties
TeamBiz may disclose your Personally Identifiable Information in
response to
a subpoena, legal order or official request, when we believe you have
acted in violation of the User Agreement and/or the Advertising Policy
or when we believe that doing so may protect your safety or the safety
of others.
We may use de-identified (stripped of any information that could be used to identify you) and aggregated information (combined with information from many other users) for reasearch purposes that include traffic patterns, trends in connection with various types of inquiries, etc. and we may share this information with other parties.
Advertisements
that appear on the TeamBiz Website are delivered directly by our
advertisers or through third party advertisers and other service
providers. We share TeamBiz Website usage information for
the
purpose of targeting advertisements on the TeamBiz Website. They
automatically receive your IP address when this happens. These third
party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer to measure
the effectiveness of their ads. TeamBiz does not have access to or
control of
the cookies that may be placed by the third party advertisers.
Links and Third Party Applications
We may offer links to other websites that are not operated or controlled by TeamBiz. If you visit one of these linked sites, you should review its privacy and other policies. TeamBiz does not review and is not responsible for the policies and practices of other companies accessed by these links, and any information you submit to those websites is subject to their privacy policies.
Third party applications (such as widgets) created by third party developers may also be available on TeamBiz. Third party applications are small bits of software, often with interactivity, that can be installed into your customized TeamBiz Website. TeamBiz does not control the third party developers. When you engage with or download a third party application, you are interacting with such third party developer, not with us. TeamBiz does not review and is not responsible for the policies and practices of third party developers, and we encourage you to ascertain and make sure you can trust such third parties before interacting with them.
Discussion Forums and User-Generated Content
One of the features of the TeamBiz Website is a public discussion forum provided through discussion lists, bulletin boards or chat rooms (referred to as "Discussion Forums") to allow users with similar interests, fields of expertise or problems to share information and/or post and answer questions.
Any information that users disclose in the Discussion Forums is by design shared with the public and is not confidentially maintained. You should think carefully before disclosing any information, and particularly any Personally Identifiable Information in the Discussion Forums. Because of the nature of the Discussion Forums any information you disclose may be accessed, disclosed or collected by third parties and as a result may be used by such third parties in ways that TeamBiz is unable to control or predict.

TeamBiz reserves the right to monitor such submissions and postings and to record any such submissions, to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any law, regulation or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any submitted information or materials, in TeamBiz 's sole discretion.
Your participation in forums and discussions, as well as the posting of publically available profile information, images, blog, articles, comments and other content on the TeamBiz Website, is at your own risk and responsibility and is governed by the TeamBiz Terms of Use.
Security and Confidentiality
We use commercially reasonable efforts to keep your Personally Identifiable Information secure. We endeavor to use appropriate physical, administrative, and technical security to protect against any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or inadequate disposal or destruction of personally identifiable information.
Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that user content you post on the TeamBiz Website will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.
